Speaking of manipulation:  It goes both ways.  Some guys know how to sweet talk some girls into getting what they want.  These guys tell the girls all kinds of wonderful things and make each of them feel as if she is his one-and-only.  I know a man who bought over a half a dozen Valentine's Day cards for different women.  Then he tried to date the girl who sold them to him.  Wisely, she didn't go out with him.

It's fine to show love and friendship to everyone, but the special words need to be reserved for the one you really care about or the words are either no longer special or deceptive.

I felt the same way in DC. I didn't want to leave and felt a 'loss' as I left. Here's a BIG cyber hug for you Ms. Bride! You're an awesome sister and I'm honored to have met you. 

I missed out on some of this extra bonding time by going home to church (and sewing) and having the responsibility to not only my little Warren but another cat as well. And this bothers me for lack of bonding and having been so quiet at the dinner on Saturday night. I felt a little lost on Sunday night for everyone there had drawn closer from the day's adventure (and again .... as my life has mostly been ... I was out in the cold [even ae over all the years found ways that no one would socialize with us as a couple] )  America here is big on get togethers & picnics on major holidays (Nederland - not so much) and hardly anyone from our church or even the boy scout troop he/we were in invited us anywhere.

my family is where they are and there ain't nothin I can do about it now
.... and the one that probably needed it the most I was not wise enough or mature (spiritually) enough to do anything about it
