Promise to only write in the mens section once a day..

This is for men and women...

Few people will care how you really feel... All will care how you act, (behave)..

Have not answered your question--just wanted to share that.

Both are important but I think what she DOES is what I remember and adore most.

May I ask like what, Ramone?  It's okay if you are not comfortable sharing....this is just AAG and I am intrigued by your word usage of what you 'remember and adore most'.  I realize every man is different, and has a different personality, different likes and needs....but still...it could shed some light.........TY.

Sorry...may I sneak in here Shinningstar? Undecided....I promise I won't cause any troubles Grin

From my point of view: Children remember more the words adults say to them then what they do for them.
That was the reason I didn't appreciate my mom very much when I was very young. She didn't say much but she did for us for what no mother would do.It took a long time to understand that she was the best mother in the world, although she was very reserved in words of affirmation.
As a grown up person I would remember someone by what they do for me, more than just what they say.
And that because I know most people are not good at expressing their feelings and often what they do is what they want to say. After all, isn't the "Act of Service" one of the five love languages?

Hey SS ... t/y ... I thought maybe the word adore was too much because you know, we adore the Lord, and was gonna edit the word out, but because that best described my feelings, left it in.  I'll explain a lil (and try to answer your question too HG):

I think words of affirmation is/are my love language ... but I think with some gals that's not their cup of tea.  Some show their love by acts of service. (and some have difficulty showing their love, lol)  I think the actions are more important than the words anyway, which is a Biblical principle IMO.

Here's an example:  This gal that serves me at the restaurant I go to .. she knows what I drink and pours me a tall glass of it sometimes before I even sit down.  She greets me with a smile, remembers what I like to eat, serves well, talks pleasantly and talks with me and others a little more than the others (servers) seem to, gives me extras sometimes for my mom mostly, lol, me too though, etc. ... She just acts like she loves to serve .. and that she really cares about you.  I could say much more + because you know a person does and says so many things.  Anyway my friend and I have recalled the great service and wonderful personality of this gal several times.  She is close to my age and so is like twice the age of most of the cute lil about 18 year old servers there ... but I like her the best.  Geez I could say more but I'll stop.

I love the Lord first and foremost ... but wow, when I see a kind and loving gal like that, .... it's a work of art .. much greater than any Rembrandt or Picasso.

Ramone....first...I am glad you did not alter your use of the word "adore".  I actually thought you might because I emphasized it. But for good purpose.  I know what you mean, sometimes I feel it should be reserved only in reference to the Lord, because I adore Him, but I do use it other times.  Perhaps, it is because when someone is demonstrating Godly qualities and serving and giving of themselves, it brings this word to mind.  Because it is more than we love what they are doing, it is stronger than that because it is so special.  Maybe I'll need to use Adore with a capital in reference to my Adoring the Lord. I Adore Him, and I adore some other smaller things others do.  As it is now, I never capitalize the name satan, who deserves nothing.

It's funny, because I tied for Words of Affirmation, Physical Touch and Quality Time, but do not put huge store in the Love Languages test.  For me it is more how we are wired and created as people with different personalities.  I also adore those little things, especially the little things, someone does for me, but I remember their words of affirmation clearly, too. I think as we mature and grow in our servant's heart that areas become more developed and balanced.  I love to give it all....acts of service, words of encouragement and praise, quality time, gifts.  And when married, more than simple affection one can give friends and family...but which is also important and good.

It is said that actions speak louder than words.  I think it is true mostly. It is best and wonderful when one's actions support one's words and words which are fulfilled in actions.  Same difference, I guess. There are times when they can be separate, but with the collective whole as Love expressed and given.

Still, I find it interesting that even though your love language is Words of Affirmation, acts of service remain uppermost in your mind.  This is one of the reasons why, I believe we need to learn to speak all of the languages as indicated in a relationship.  It is called being a servant, Christ-like....Love..through our words, deeds, touch (as appropriate), time, gifts.

Shinning....you sweet sister Grin Yes, there is a 24/7 direct hotline with the Father [thumbup]
The homeless you bless might forget your words and even your face, but surely they will never forget your act of service.
And heaven will remember it too. Keep up the good works of salvation. He is with you!

i do my best to remember both,
talk is cheap, actions scream, what matters to me is if she say's," i'm gonna & does "
she's welcome to stay,if she say's," i won't & does " she's gotta go....

I remember when she said and does what she did.  some yrs Prior to My Marrage to Susan I dated a couple of ladies who said many things but never came through when it mattered.  So I remembered what she said and what she did about what she said.

Words flow from people but it's what they do afterwards that means anything.  Walk the talk or don't talk about it.
