Forum Etiquette and Courtesy

Thanks to KEEPER for writing this up. Posted exactly as written.

As situations and misunderstandings occur from time to time, these rules of Forum Etiquette and Courtesy have been developed to try to help all of us have an enjoyable experience here.

Always remember that many, many more people READ the forums than actually post on it. The eyes of many other SCN members are reading what you have written. And, in fact, your posts on the forum can be Googled by ANYONE in the whole world.  Particularly in controversial topics, pray for God’s guidance before you post!  Please make your attitude and words representative of an Ambassador for Christ!  “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).
Edit or Delete a Post -- Anyone who posts can go back to the thread at a later time and EDIT or DELETE a particular post they have made.

Lock or Delete a Thread -- The person who makes the original post has an option to LOCK or DELETE the ENTIRE THREAD at a later time.

Locked Threads -- Once a thread is locked, please DO NOT copy and paste anything from that thread into a new post or thread of your own.  The one who locked it wanted to CLOSE the discussion, so please respect his/her decision to do so.  If that person is still a member of SCN, you may write a private message to him/her to comment on the thread or ask permission to copy and paste something previously written.

Alright I will follow your rules. I am sorry for that slipup. I just thought that if "someone" posted something specifically to someone and then decided to lock the post so they could attempt to bully, have their say without ANY response it would be the wrong thing to do. I guess not.

I am always open to discussion and felt that I was very nice with that response however I can play well in the sandbox.

Good morning to all on the great day of celebration of our great nation!

I wanted to stop by and say I agree with the "rules" stated, but I also totally agree with AA and that it is unfair and rude for someone to get by with posting against another and then locking the post. If one should have an opportunity to post in defense of themself then the person they belittle should have opportunity to reply or begin another thread. (Not that I think either should be permitted, but since it happen so much....) Personally I think posting against someone simply to make them look wrong should not be allowed. However it seems that it certainly is. How about we follow the rule what's good for the goose is good for the gander?  [eyebrows] Actually it seems there is a preference game played on the forums. Just my HMO! Thanks.

Thanks JLB. I do agree that the rule is fair however NOT when it is applied this way and it has to be applied across the board.

I will only be posting my thoughts on subjects and content from now on and have shaken certain dust off my feet.

I have not been normally vocal on false prophets but now my Scottish/ Native Canadian (Metis) dander is up. My blog will be discussing false prophets as well.

I love this site and was here for a longtime before. There have been a lot of great changes but "some things" never change
