1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.......
........

20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: 21 the same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsai'da of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. 22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor. 27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. 30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, signifying what death he should die. 34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever, and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? 35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. 36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them......

Yes Father, help us die so that we may live, and this, daily. Indeed, your light Lord Jesus is an endless day which knows no night.

"If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." (Lk. 14:26; Prov:14:26).

Before I was saved I never even thought of sin in any way. Now as a christian I feel the conviction of the holy spirit to repent. To be honest, I wish I never ever sinned as I hate sin. I do struggle with certain things but have overcome much.

A very precious passage.

How often I wished I had a photographic memory.
But how faithful the Lord is, to bring His word when in need.
 Azn

God's redeemed people will die to self eventually.
With some, it will just take more affliction than others.

"For thus says the Lord:
SING WITH GLADNESS FOR JACOB, (I've never heard this done in some churches)
And SHOUT among the chief of the nations;
PROCLAIM, give PRAISE, and say,
O LORD, SAVE YOUR PEOPLE,
The remnant of Israel! (remnant - the elect of the Old Testament)
Behold, I will bring them from the north country,
And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among them the blind and the lame,
The woman with child
And the one who labors with child, together,
A great throng shall return there.
They shall come with weeping,
And with supplications I will lead them.
I will CAUSE THEM to walk by the rivers of waters,
In a STRAIGHT WAY in which THEY SHALL NOT STUMBLE (to forsake their salvation);
For I am a Father to ISRAEL (Jew and Gentile alike, out of every tribe, tongue, people and nation, Rev.5:9,
And Ephraim is My firstborn...
For the Lord HAS REDEEMED JACOB." (Jer.31:7-9, 11).

Can the perishing speak of this love?? Have THEY been redeemed, or has the house of Jacob been redeemed? Paul says - “WE are the house of Israel (Jacob).” Believers. Jew and Gentile alike. “Sing with GLADNESS for Jacob.”

Jesus was willing to be crucified, to die, yes even death on the cross because that was the only way through which he could pay the price of that which stood btn him and us -- Sin and Death. His blood was shed, and his Life, therefore was offred, his spirit left his body. No one could bear the sins of mankind but him. After he died, it might have seemed as if he was no longer there, as the triumphant Lord. I wonder whether the disciples were able to love each other as they had learned to, while he was with them, the way he loved them, they way he taught them to.

If we haven't experienced or don't know of his love for us as individuals and as a cooperate Body of believers, most certainly we may not understand the need and the urgency of love for our neighbor...we won't be able to love as he loves. And possibly, we'd be fearful of each other if we'd treat each without love. If God so loves the world, aren't we to know that the people around us are loved by him and hence treat them accordingly?

Some are difficult to love, yet you Lord Jesus died for all of us, whether some know you or not. So,  we ought to love the unlovables -- their need is dire, since they're blind to the love God has for them. They may not recognize us but we see them. We aren't better, we have nothing to boast abt.

Lord you set an example for us, we too should sacrifice ourselves for another, as we serve each other and  remember
you. Not in order to gain appreciation, but because we remember you and the way you love us and we want to love others. You see the service, the love, that's enough.

Let us go on abt Father's business lest time and idleness defeat us aS the day grows short. You Lord Jesus are with us, to the end of the age.

No death could hold you down, the King of kings and the Lord of lords! \0/

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by Man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive...or He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.(1 Cor. 15:20-22, 25-26).

"It is finished." (Jhn. 19:30) -- These may be three words in English but in ancient Greek it’s one word - "Tetelesti", meaning "accomplished, completed, summed up, paid in full. This word shook the world!

Death died, so that all who may believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, may live eternally and not perish.

I ascribe greatness to the only one saving, Messiah and King of all kings!
