I witness to people regardless of denomination as it is a personal rel with jesus that saves. Now with a catholic trusting in church I mention you must see impact of sin repent and believe in jesus alone. Their answer is the catholic church is first church and they believe as long as you go to church and do sacraments. So I read the bible verses repent and believe then they say well you have to be catholic, first church. So they miss salvation. Now there are saved catholics but those resting on jesus alone not church aTtendance and sacraments. I even said to then well the pope now beleives it is jesus alone. Their answer well you have to be catholic. They do not understand impact of sin and think church saves. How do you witness to them as one is a close relative. It came up as I went to a wake of my godmom. Joan

If your friends told you what you wrote, then they do not understand their own religion. This is unfortunately very common among Catholics and other people as well.
If you want to show your friends what their church -- the Roman Catholic Church -- teaches, then please let me know. The Catholic Catechism is available on line and we can all read it.
I have decided some time ago to examine my own faith rather than checking what others believe. I prayed the Lord from the bottom of my heart and seek help from some strong people in faith. My views changed completely, I have been living mystic experiences with the Lord and I do know now that Christianity is all about a personal relation with Christ. There is one sister in this forum who helped me in an incredible way, I know the Lord has put her on my way.
My advise, if you allow me, is that we examine our own faith and ask the Lord to come in our lives.
God bless you Joan
