I've taken up residence in a south room today to study.  Feels wonderful to sit in the sun. My toads like it too :-) lol

Your toads or your toes?  I forgot, Archie, which pet you finally got.

Well...lol
We just happened to come across a water dog salamander larvae while visiting another city, which I talked my son into purchasing because I just "had to have him". lol  He's so cute and comes to the surface to get his head and back rubbed. Has quite the personality. Right now he's mainly aquatic. As his lungs develop, he will live mostly on land and require just a little water. Oh and he'll grow three nodes on each side of his head; each one with a feather. lol His diet will change too. He eats blood worms.

About a week later, my son bought me a Japanese Fire Toad for an early birthday gift (he knew I'd wanted one ever since I was about 22); we purchased a second to keep the first company and ended up putting them in a 30 gal tank I'd found way back at a yard sale.

Now, as of today, we also have two Paddle-tail newts with orange bellies like the toads and they are in the same tank. So far so good but they are being closely monitored for the moment. lol  Both the toads and the newts have toxins in their belly.  If a creature should choose to attack them, all four will show their orange bellies. When the attacker bites, it will die.  We feed the toads live crickets (which really grossed me out at first. lol) and the newts fish/turtle food.

I still want a corn snake but enough is enough, even though I do still have one empty aquarium in that room just waiting...lol  Yes, we turned my large master bedroom into a family/amphibian room and spend most of our time in there.

So yeah...we have a few pets now..lol My son seems more settled too and happier.

JLB, I'm very happy for you :-D

Oh yeah! There's a mountain in my life, but I don't want to speak to it to be removed, cause it will obey and go away. No, this one is going to submit to me, I will climb all the way to the top where my answer is. I'm almost there.....Father, just Give me the mountain! I decree..."Mountain You are MINE!"

Hear, I pray you, that which Jehovah is saying: `Rise--strive thou with the mountains, And cause thou the hills to hear thy voice.'

I just cooked my first balanced and delicious meal in my new abode. Stir-fried honey mustard chicken medalions with steamed asparagus and new potatoes.   I prepared enough for a number of leftover meals , but......alas......no dinner date.

If I do say so myself , I'm a pretty good cook.       PTL !!       [thumbup]

I did real "man" work today and I was so proud of myself. lol  Lately I've been wondering how long it will take me to learn enough about motors so that I can build my own little one. I'm not sure what it's purpose will be though..I'll have to think about that. lol

Wow...Cheesy
I had no idea I was so attached to you all. LoL It's good to be back on, even though I have to hold the modem cord in because it's broken and it's dialup- which means here it's even slower than molasses running up hill in winter.LoL Tongue That's high desert for you.

No snow, which was a relief, because I skipped getting my studs on...until I get back. Snow is supposed to be on the way, though, as of this weekend. Not looking forwards to it... Undecided but at least today was a beautiful sunny day, which was a lovely blessing. Having a good time with the family although...as predicted...not much sleep. LoL  Today my sis and I started out with a really long agenda of things she needed done, but then after coffee...somehow we got to rocking instead. LoL  They have an awesome mixer and  sound system, so we put on some neon rainbows  Cool, maxed out the bass and did some easy line dancing. Whew! Out of practice, but what a blast. The children loved it-- have you ever tried line dancing while holding a 9 mo old?  Cheesy  She was thrilled- beaming the whole time and for the rest of the day, she kept bopping every time she heard any music. That is a pretty cute sight, since she has just discovered standing up on her own.  LoL It really is in the blood...

So tomorrow... we will be good girls and buckle down to tackle the lengthy list. Grin I hereby promise I will not have a part in spreading the sin of procrastination.  [thumbup] [pray] LoL

Hope you are all well and having a good night!

The Blue Castle
