I don't have germs to pass on.  I stay healthy, wealthy, and wise.  Well maybe not wealthy with a kid in college, a grandbaby requiring a babysitter, and rent in Bethesda.

Sorry my bro has the sniffles.  Next time I'll have to make my homemade chik noodle soup for my house guests - or else my homemade ginger ale.  That stuff will clear up anything.

2Bless.  I'm so glad you enjoyed the card.  Sewing thought of it, but we all pitched in.

BUT you demanded ordered about hog-tied asked both of us to kiss you .... then and there in the museum gift shop  ... 'nd Music resisted complied  first (I think it was the cologne I was wearing. Smiley ).

so don't keep changin' the story ... me is very detail oriented.  (and I sooo hesitated to acquiesce to the request  a guy with looonnnggg hair,  wearin' 5+ layers of shirts .... smelly shirts ) (now sistah Sewing, u know u enjoyed that kiss ... I did. Smiley )

(maybe Music secretly passed you the baby jerms)  ..... I shy away from babies (no sis, Music is not Jerman German .. but she is a good kisser. Smiley )

Sewing

and annudder thing .... me thinks that suthern boy is 'llergic to snow and is sufferin' cause he saw snow and not b'cause of a cold (sis, suthern boy is not 'llergic to snow or cold; he's allergic to wind chill. Smiley )

Hey sis, seriously ..... in church tomorrow I'm gonna tell them about my friends in D.C. [eyebrows]    Blessings ..........   <><  <3

P.S.  Music I'm sure your soup and/or ginger ale would have been great.  And yes Sewing worked hard to get 2B2 that card.  She was wondering how to get the email addy from 2B2 without spilling the beans.  Good job Sewing.

cologne ? ? ?    think it was fragrance from all that exhaust and road kills you passed on the way up here

leather gets even worse with those components and creates its own aroma scent smell   [bruhh] ... at the far end  opposite from roses.

Sewing

thanks again guys for helping keep that bday card a secret, 2B2 was sooo surprised and thrilled ... it made her day (a bit early ... but we'll get her again).  and the post office did a good job ... ahead of schedule  (I asked about delivery time --> Sat or Mon)

Better late than never. Here it is a week after the get together, and I am just looking at these posts. I too very much enjoyed getting to know ya'll. (To put it in Tennessee Hillbilly talk.)

A slight suggestion for next time, or for anyone who might want to hold a get together like we did - perhaps it would be better to ask a church to let you use their kitchen, and a room to meet in. Maybe even have it catered. I think we would have had a much better time if we could have sung to our hearts content, in an atmosphere where the owner doesn't come over and ask us to be quiet. Other than that, we did have a great time getting to know each other.

[halo] Kiss [halo] A holy kiss to you all all ya'll!

SuperSteve - I planned only a dinner out, not a worship service, a singing event, a tour of DC, hosting visitors, or other entertainment.  I expected a few locals to show up to eat dinner and meet HisBride who was making a special trip to DC to see her friend and meet with us.  The event just took off with people from far away places coming in for a weekend of activities.  I tried to accommodate special requests but wasn't as successful as I would have liked.  2Bless and Chase were wonderful about stepping in to help out.

Catering an event is a wonderful idea!  I actually thought briefly about reserving the fellowship hall at my church for singing, but it was being used for a special International potluck dinner to kick off missions emphasis month that weekend.  I didn't want to cater the event because that would require cleanup.  I wanted to be able to let someone else do the dirty work so I could spend time with the group.  Next time you guys give me some ideas for activities and locations, and I'll be willing to do the leg work.  Give me time though.  It's hard to plan a big event in just a couple of weeks.

BTW:  I have made a new friend in my area who is a tour guide of DC on the side.  He's also an awesome musician.  Maybe I can recruit him to help us out next time.

I have to agree with you , SuperSteve. It is difficult restraining yourself , especially when it comes to singing praises.

I'm excited about your upcoming mission trip to Africa. It appears you're poised to bring a great blessing to that

continent.

HG , the massage tools are an invention by an acupuncturist called " hand wizards." I carry them almost everywhere

I go. They resemble hands , and have a remarkable , healing effect on nearly everyone who experience them. Because I deal

with chronic pain , I've tried many devices that promise relief , but haven't found any that feel like these.

     It was , indeed , a joy being with y'all. ( I've spent a little time in the south ) As it is , I'm fixin' to g'wout n'get

sumpt'm t'eat.

Yeah Steve, talking with the gals was sweet, but I really enjoyed my guy talk with Chase on the Metro subway train thingy .. and I wish you and I could have done some guy talk too .. without the gals around .. you know, so we could talk about them and stuff.  LoL

yeah and us gals could have used some alone time to talk also without you guyz around ... you know

(teee heee     j/k)

in a way I hated to leave on Saturday night - know I missed out on not only some of the touring but further chats with HB, SS, S26, Rn but I had responsibilities at church in the morning and feline duty

but we should have had more singing time, especially with hymnals available

Chase,  nice of you to comment on our voices in an earlier post,  usually that is something gurlz notice quicker especially if some are musically tuned  (either by singing or instrument playing)

Sounds good. Romance, love is always nice.

JoanMarie

don't be so anxious for this.

just being around Christian brothers and sisters was enough for me

I'm done with romance ...... no longer of interest to me and I sometimes get bothered when others put that type of pressure on a gathering.

romance died in my life over 20 years ago .... and this old dog's nose is not sniffin out any other  (besides my status won't allow for anything)

please don't expect this if even another outing were to occur in the future

Is it not so that "wherever two or more {Christians} are gathered that Jesus is there also"?   and Jesus is Agape Love [and to those Jesus even reached down to the level of Philalos love ..... and nothing else, {reread the story about Jesus asking Peter ... 3 times} ].

and if you are 'expecting more"  .... then I will NOT attend  (or if I do I will make it clear to NOT put word on this site that I was there)

Sorry sewing. I did not mean it to bother anyone. I also would have gone just to meet brothers and sisters. I was thinking of me how I would love to be in a romance. Valentines passed and I was thinking of me wanting romance somewhere. But at that event as there was no emails flying to me of romance I also would have expected friendship and brother or sister kinship. That is special to me. I don't look at every event as romance. But anyhow I agree. It is upsetting if there is romance pressure at an event. Even if people are interested they should befriend everyone and share the family atmosphere. Sorry if it offended you. I love you.joan

The guys were acting like such gentle men (SuperSteve, Steve, Paladin, & Chase) that I thought sure at least one of them would attract a gurl.  Maybe they were trying to be a lil too spiritual.  I've done that and missed out on some good dates.

Sometimes it's like the gals are not attracted to the spiritual or the gentleman but to something else, like a good talker or sometimes to the quiet guy who pays them little attention.

Who thinks that the ladies weren't interested in the men at the gathering?  All of the men I met were very charming and seemed like good Christian men.  The ladies were good women as well.  If there was/is a romance going on then I would think that the couple would be discrete and not broadcast it to the whole forum.

The ladies and men acted like sisters and brothers and a family so no one felt left out.  That's how it should be.  If some of the brothers and sisters want to take the friendship a step further, then it's their business to do that privately.

I have to agree with you , ML.

It is so great to just meet people in person. I'll refrain from sharing the obvious sparks that we all observed at dinner.

[eyebrows]   . . . . .  There might have been a little of  [bigwink]  going on.    I agree completely that everyone

behaved in a polite and friendly manner.
