Please pray for this new class, meeting on Wednesday evenings for the next 8 weeks ( add another week to that time frame as we will not be meeting during Holy Week). Class size will be around 13. Book = A Purpose Driven Life. This is the pilot class for a series of 8 week sessions for the following church year (mid Sept until mid May), where this book will be studied at a much slower pace. Our church had done this as a church-wide study 5 years ago in the 40 day time frame but some classes either felt rushed or never finished the last session (might have been weather related .... too much snow & church was closed?)
The facilitator of tonight's class, over the past year, felt God guide him to start these smaller, slower paced classes.

Pray that this will draw these people in attendance closer and that we can better fulfill God's Purpose for each of us  (day 8: You are created for God's Pleasure).

As our 'normal' alternate Tuesday Woman's study was not meeting for the spring session I felt guided to take a couple of 'classes' on our busy Wednesday Connection (church has a prepared dinner and then classes for adults, choir practice, activities for children so parents can attend a class). The first one was a Lenten Study. Then this one became available

My uncle Phillip passed away yesterday.  I just heard about it church today.  He was a good husband, father, and Christian.  He used to work at my church as head of maintenance.  We did a lot of things together including church, hunting and fishing.  I once asked him how does a fellow get over the loneliness after a divorce.  He said, Just go get another one (woman).  LoL  He told me a few days ago that he was ready to go.  He has finished the race.  He has fought the good fight.  Now he is home.     <><  <3

Sorry for your loss. Praise God he is saved so in heaven. He has his wings. I have been reading about heaven a lot lately. Too bad he can't send a postcard telling what he is seeing there.

Sorry for your loss.  Great that he is present with the Lord.  And, the Lord with you!   The Lord is with him, the Lord is with You... so sit on a bench and talk to the Lord (who is in the middle) and tell the Lord to pass it on to the uncle and listen back to what the Lord says to you.  Anyway,... that is sorta the way I have come to think about it.  Maybe they can pass on joys unspeakable to us... .  I do not know if they come from the loved one or not.  They do come from the Lord.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."  Psalms 116   Can't we see that???  I think I finally can.  I used to think, how can any part of dying (leaving, departing, body depleting) be precious.  How neat and exciting (precious) God sees and feels when he sees His loved ones trusting in Him into His arms, one last time, irrevocably.  There is Someone 'at the train station', waiting to take us aboard when the time comes; we do not go alone, they did not go alone.

Ramone he is going thru orientation learning from his guardian angels about heaven I imagine. He is in a happy, peaceful place. I know it is sad to be without him. Nice he was saved. That is always my concern when someone dies I care for.

So Sorry Ramone;

As you know we are not without Hope. Absent from the body and present with the Lord. What an awesome Promise.

Aw, I'm so sorry Ramone. I hope this is not a difficult time for you. I wish people we loved didn't have to leave, but, heaven is a wonderful reward so I've heard. Wonder if he will run into my Momma? Hope he likes to laugh cause Momma was always funny. Praying for you also my friend! [pray]

when I started this class I thought this was going t obe a good one but a meeting afterwards (more in another post on that) somehwo the facilitator feels that I'm way off base with how and what I feel about God. what I thought I had as deep faith he basically dismissed that and called me one of the lost sheep.
I was devestated when I got home. then what I had thought were very powerful God moments in my life are now false?

I had wanted to ask for prayer prior to this meeting but as I had lost the Internet connection I could not post anything

last night was the last class (of "Purpose #1) in this book,  it was Day 14
pages 109 & 110 talk about feeling and sensing .

I would have said more in class last night but it was a smaller clas than usual, and also after those couple of meetings with a smaller group I was hesitant t osay what I felt or understood.
maybe I did nto want to get criticized further or they did not understand a couple of points I had tried to make
these two pages talk about the differeince in wanting to get a feeling vs sensing God's Presence

part of this bounces off another thread --> childlike faith

so many times during my prayer times I feel God's Presence (or maybe .. at the level I am it is really 'sensing' and not feeling')
but how do you define it when your understanding is different than another person's?

then I have to ask [myself] am I on the right track or way off ... or are the ones telling me that I'm off track are they the ones who are not following as closely as they think they are?

so then it comes to a point of 'judging' one another when really we should be going to God and let Him tell us (one on one with HIM) that we are 'good' or we need to adjust our thinking and get back on track to where God wants each of us to follow (for each person is different and God knows that) and He knows better what we need than others do.

Classes will be starting up in the fall and will continue with day 15 (working in 7 day increments). I know i can get 'stuff' from the class but I don't want to get 'bogged down' in feeling judged with what I say, what I feel God has been showing me and then for them to tell me I'm way off
