please pray for me

just got a phone call from "ae" - first words out of his mouth were   " I lost my health insurance"
this has a much wider effect  ... support and ins 4me ... and still more

I don't know all the details (in some ways I don't need to know) will get another call from his home later.

he's been known to 'be a loose canon' - not sure if this is the cause, if work ran out or anything. do know loss of insurance is effective immediately.

this puts me in an even worse condition.    and with health issues..

thank you all for your prayer support

did find out a bit more --> it may have been in part a personality clash with his supervisor and maybe one or more reports not meeting expectations (he had mentioned that one had not turned out well at all) or this 'clash' affected things.  He had been there just over a year. (his previous employer had cound him this job when layoffs were occuring.  ae at times is like a bull in a china shop and can be abrasive on occasion.

in spite of this happening I am at a calm, am also grateful that I had srot of 'stock-piled' 3 of my rx's so I am not in danger there (have a couple months ahead)

and yes ... I hate to admit this ... am old enough to qualify for AARP and will look into that for maybe next month (if adjustments to another source of [small] income occur).  Maybe God's hand had been guiding me to look into that option this past week --> if I had done this before Dec 15th then maybe I could have proceeded before end of this month.  I have been so involved in fighting for workers comp that I had not turned in paperwork to get other source reinstated due to the loss of WC (only because if I had won it ... earlier than now... it would have to have been adjusted back again; this may still occur if I win it  {it is complicated to explain and probably does not need to be done so here on this site}

again thank you all for your prayers and support and concern

one more thing --> one of my "kids" are ill --> took my one cat to the vet ... he has kidney issues and may require a new diet permanently. My tabby right now (for those who have seen their pic) is on a round of antibiotics. he had lost more than a pound (for those who need conversion 1 kilo = 2.2 lbs) and he is a small cat anyway so this is a significant loss (his range is normally between 7 - 8 lbs). he is in quarantine (isolated to one room). Vet gave (sold cans, samples of hard) me some food to try ... so far not eating much and does not seem to like the hard food (but that might be  a teeth & gum issue --> cleaning is a future goal), their diet has been mostly hard food. He is eating a little bit, so for now I'd rather see him get anyting in his tiny belly to start putting some weight back on, even if it is mostly soft food (with 3 different cans vet figures he might like one of the three flavors of prescription food). started the antibiotics on sat, we are about 1/4 into the dosing. hopefully after a couple more days (14 total) I should see some improvement in him (behavior as well as activity level)

Hi All

not sure if this should be here or more in the praise section but here goes (it is related to this thread, I may copy paste it to proper section  later)

1st point : called AARP ... can add insurance once membership is paid, effective date (if I can swing the money right) could be potentially effective Feb 1st (they only run month to month - in the manner all enrollments start on the first of the month, not partway through)

2nd point : saw Dr for my CTS (same Dr who did my shoulder) as I need a Dr that will confirm the carpal tunnel syndrome and be supportive for workers comp. he has ordered EMG's ( a test that can confirm the presence of CTS .. or not; is the only definitive test all else is subjective tests). while at appt he also examined my shoulder so I won't have to go back in two weeks (I asked the scheduler to check with Dr as the shoulder appt would otherwise have to be moved due to the insurance.

3rd point : while on the way to the bank to get money for the Rx's at pharmacy (one where I normally get my pills from) I decided to stop at a specialty pharmacy to pick up a DME item (I'm not specifying what it is but once deductible is met I can get 3 month supply for free of these particular supplies, back in Dec when I picked up something else I did ask to order these items) when I got there found out she had not so I explained the insurance change   ----> she will order them for me but use yesterday's date (as it was more her fault for not following up)

4th point : while at my normal pharmacy to pick up the pills (had dropped off the scripts the other day but was not sure which date they could be filled as the old Rx's had run out, I figured I may have dropped them off too early and insurance would not allow these to be filled until a certain date) scripts were written for a 90 day supply each but when i dropped the slips off I asked for only a 30 day supply (and had taken out enough $ at the bank for this). At the pharmacy counter I saw that these two scripts had been filled for 50 days, max allowed by insurance, when I saw this I almost protested but then realized if they were to be changed today it would cost me a whole lot more ... without insurance. I bought one of the two as I only had enough money for the two if they had been filled for 1 month each .. was short $6.00. I can get them later (spprt $ should be in bank possibly by Friday, not sure if spprt will be full amount or not)

5th point : after the bank stop I had stopped off at my church to drop off something and i felt the need to play a certain track off the News Boys CD  --> "Blessed Be His Name".  I sang with it, enjoying every verse.  I had been so pleased to have thought of the first pharmacy and with them ordering the supplies I needed. And then it came back again with the 'gift' (blessing) at the second pharmacy.  I realized too that through all this turmoil I should have gotten upset or broken down and yet my head is held high, the driving force of planning and thinking ahead and using common sense have all added to keeping me strong (and without God helping me hone some of these traits I probably would be in a heap).  was thinking on the way home on how much I've taken from my dad, my Mom and my oldest brother --> sifted through all the things taught (I mean these things when I say "taken") and honed the better things and discarded the unwanted or negative things. This has served to be the better blessing in the long run. And feeling driven in stopping at the places I did today made all this feel like such rich blessings (and only God would lavish us this richly)

please continue with prayers over the situations and that I don't falter (satan has a way of sometimes chipping away or try to pull the rug out)

Love  and blessings to all

Hi All

not sure why ... but today feels like I'm faltering a bit, whether call from ae affected me (one of his better calls, [his tone reflects his mood, so this was not a bad one]) or concern over my cat (who has not been eating much, there is evidence that he is drinking), my pastor returned my call from yesterday so  I had updated him about some of the praises of yesterday but mainly to let him know ae was let go from his place of employment.  There is also an out of state issue I'm dealing with.

not sure what it is or if satan is chewing at the edges

I decided last night to bring the girl in with Warren so he wasn't alone and that they would not become 'foreigners'. this went well and I opened the door today to everyone but had to close off the food hopper so Warren would not get any of the 'former' food. In a way quarantine was easier for I could see what he had eaten and when he used the litter box. I've hardly seen him today (he's been somewhat just laying around -- not that active or visible), hopefully he'll join my lap for TV watching (of everyone he is my lap cat and will sit for hours on my lap while I watch TV, and purr during most of it)

updates to follow

Update on Warren

yesterday we finished the round of antibiotics (14 days)

Warren had been in quarentine overnight, and IV treatment (usually given around noonish - but yesterday I forgot) was later than usual, which in a way was good for it would 'guarentee some results.
was able to collect UA this morning. went to vet and decided to wait for the results, good thing too (was told of the results)
He will need another 14 days of clavamox (an antibiotic) as there was still bacteria, also crystals were forming.
am glad to know that what had 'traspired' over past 3 days is NOT behavioral but actually medical  (I found "wet" spots in 3 locations, and one of them I had caught him in the act).
am to still continue the IV (so today got IV & line & needles, antibiotics, and one can of soft food.

was trying to be 'efficient' and get as much as needed now so I would not have to turn around in 2 - 3 days and get another thing, as vet is about 30 minutes away.

he did not seem to eat too much "lunch" after I got home, but he was picking at the bowl fo food in the master bathroom (part of his, or anyone's for that matter, quarentine area)

am posting this here as well

""I called the vet this morning (for a couple of reasons) and will be on the call back list, the person I spoke to I asked to get word to one of the vets that another bag of saline will soon be needed (3 doses left), she will put me on a call back list, she also (assuming guessing)said that bloodwork may be needed to see if these IV teatments are helping.
somehow after the call ended I got the feeling that Warren's time is coming. it is also close to Feb 5th ( a date I chose 6 years ago for my beloved Snowball. which was the reverse of a date of not only one of my brothers but also my female tabby back  in 2002, May 2nd).

Warren was on my lap for over an hour last night with my TV shows but he did not purr ................    (something he so readily gave)

My thoughts have been to bring Warren to the next session when our church decides to make a new Church Directory as Topaz was in the last one and Warren is more accilmated to noises (as he was a retired show cat). In yesterday's bulletin there was an announcement for plans for a new directory.  .... and now this might not be a possibility   (and Sapphire is too easily spooked, Topaz was 'okay' in 2007 but he did get nervous).

ae called a few times yesterday, missed two calls and was at vet with other.  I sometimes dread his calls (never know what type of mood he will be in).  think I have an idea but am not in a position to comply with his possible demand

on another note I think we are turning a corner with Warren (for the good) . vet drew more bloodwork yesterday. the two values she was checking for have come down significantly since first drawn around Jan 5th  [thumbup] . The Creatine & BUN are much closer to normal, still not there yet, was told an animal could survive at these levels. I'm to still give IV treatments but they won't have to be daily, taper down to maybe twice a week (a week at every other day perhaps) and possibly from there once a week. he had lost even more weight since starting the IV (last weight check) two weeks ago - just under 5 lbs
Warren started purring 3 different times at the vet, and then as I was waking up he seranaded me again. It is sooooo good to hear him purr.

thank you for your prayers

Blessings

pls pray for me, ae's mood last night on the phone has impacted me,
did not sleep well last night.
wish he weren't so volatile
he thinks he can still control me, and that his demands are legitimate.
to one of my replies last night he said 'that is not my problem' .... but what he does not realize is that it really is
