Yes, the crocodiles will EAT YOU UP. There are signs around rivers and creeks and suchlike telling people to not swim in the water, but lots of tourists ignore them - not sure why! OR ... they don't go swimmig but they pitch their tents right beside the water. Hungry crocodile just waits until they're asleep and then he comes OUT of the water.
Speaking of deserts, there are also backpackers who attempt to backpack across our desert, not realising that it is so vast! There are also signs telling you that there is NOTHING for the next 3,000 ks, but some tourists don't appear to understand those either. NOTHING means no gas station, no shop ..... NOTHING EXCEPT DESERT.
Australia is a beautiful country, but it's arid. It's not like America or Britain where if you keep on driving you'll arrive at the next town, village, blah blah ....
