Dear Sisters,

I was wondering whether you could shed some light on how to find out God's will for us.

Should we just obey, other than trying to figure out what's God's will because it is sometimes seemingly impossible.

How could I discern what is God's will for me? When facing choices, how do I know which one is a better choice that is in line with God's will?

Thanks,
Angelina

Dear "A",

The first step in finding  G's will for your life would be to "actually" spell out HIS name "GOD".  I find it odd that you spelled out every word in your message except GOD.  The next step would be surrender your life and will to HIM and then get into His word.....and then wait on Him.

You will know God's will when you seek it with all your heart.  Get into the Word and study it after you pray for the precious Holy Spirit to give you wisdom.  He will open up things in a way where you will know that you know that you know that you know you are living in His Will.  I think sometimes we wish thunder would clap or fireworks would go off so we could be sure, but I've found that the Holy Spirit often works quietly within us, and when we have peace about a certain situation, we know we are in His Will.  He will present opportunities to you and you will make decisions based on what He has said in His Word...then you can really feel assured that you are in His will.

To take up for you a little bit here-I know the Jewish people often don't spell out God because they feel it would be disrespectful-They sometimes put G_D.  But my dear friend in the Lord, God loves for us to mention Him and He takes note every time we do!

In His Grace because He lives!

Wow, Phyllis, WELCOME to the Forums, and I sincerely mean it!  I hope to see more of your posts in the future to bless us all.

Nothing much to add to what Phyllis said so beautifully.  Just PRAY, read His Word, and be willing to let your heart and mind accept with humility that which God will say/direct.  Yet there are times when it seems like a long time to us that we are not hearing from God.  Just be patient.

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.   Isaiah 59:1   God DOES hear you, and He WILL ACT on your behalf.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35

Dear Sweet one...my comment about God was not to shame you.  It was so that you could give honor to HIS HOLY name. His desire is for you!  He LOVES to hear You say His name.  THis is a new day, a new beginning in your  relationship with Jesus, saying His name is what makes Him soooo personal. Smiley He says " if my people will humble themselves and  call upon my name, i will hear them and heal their land"...

peace and love to you Smiley

You have such a sweet spirit Angelina. God will surely show you His will because you are teachable and want to know it.

Sometimes He only shows us enough light for the step we are on. It is a trust walk with Him ...but His word says that he will make our crooked way straight. When I have wandered off the path He has for me or when I didn't make the right choice, He has always placed me back where I needed to be when I humbly submitted to Him.
Stay in His Word...and pray, pray, pray and ask the Lord to send spiritual Mothers and mentors into your life to be accountable to and to teach you.

Proverbs 3:5,6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
